Then, down the road when they decide to do something NICE and professional and begin to use that artwork, it's a huge disconnect from all what they have done in the past and it usually sends mixed messages and confuses their clients. So...doing it right from the beginning is the best solution!

Usually with new startups, we’ll receive a call requesting pricing on a logo. Most of the time with these calls the client really is asking, “how much does developing a corporate identity cost”? This is because, once a logo is finished, the next logical need they have is to design their consumables -- business cards, letterhead, #10 envelopes and fax sheet. These basic items (in most cases) are essential tools to put your best foot forward when starting up. It’s been our experience with startup companies, that several clients tend to think this requires a large budget. Which of course...with all the other startup costs...tends to be cost prohibitive and is set aside.
